Chelsea are bracing themselves for significant departures this summer, with the club widely reported to be preparing to sell Alvaro Morata but he may not be the only big name leaving Stamford Bridge.

It’s also been stated that contract negotiations between Thibaut Courtois and the Blues have broken down, leading to Chelsea preparing to sell the Belgium international as he enters the final 12 months of his contract.

Heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, Gianluca Di Marzio state that defeated Champions League finalists Liverpool are also in the running for the 26-year-old goalkeeper.

Courtois’ wife and young family still live in Spain, where he enjoyed successful years on-loan with Atletico Madrid, and it’s said his preference would be to return to the Spanish capital rather than joining Jurgen Klopp on Merseyside.

Chelsea would also prefer to sell to Real Madrid rather than a direct rival, although player power is significant and Courtois will likely have the final say.
