Chelsea face a major task on their hands this summer after failing to secure Champions League football for next season and it could see the Blues fighting to retain the services of key players.

French outlet Paris United state new Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel has identified France international N’Golo Kante as his prime target for the Ligue 1 champions, as he prepares for his first season at the helm.

Kante’s agent is said to have already met with representatives from the European giants but a deal must be completed this summer, as the midfielder will change agents in December.

Serial Champions League winners Real Madrid are also said to be in the hunt for the two-time Premier League winner, who starred for Leicester City in their surprise title success before repeating the trick with Chelsea a year later.

The Blues paid a reported £35m for the France international in 2016 and will seek a significantly higher figure if they’re to approve a departure in the coming months.
