Chelsea are eyeing significant additions to their first-team after missing out on Champions League football for next season but are set for disappointment in one particular chase.
The Sun states Roma ace Radja Nainggolan will reject the advances of the Blues in order to move across the Serie A to join Inter Milan, who are able to offer Champions League opportunities after their fourth-placed finish last term.
Nainggolan missed out on Belgium’s World Cup squad for the summer and is seen as expendable by Roma, who are reportedly set to land 18-year-old Zaniolo, worth £6m, as part of a deal with their Italian rivals.
Chelsea have long been linked with the services of the experienced 30-year-old but their failure to secure a top-four finish in the Premier League last term looks to have come back to haunt the club who are still yet to resolve their managerial situation, with Antonio Conte set to depart.
