Chelsea are keen to significantly restructure their side this summer after missing out on Champions League football, with focus being placed on their defensive line.

Speculation suggests that Brazil international David Luiz could be on his way out, after he emerged as a target for Serie A runners-up Napoli, and Chelsea seem to have identified their ideal replacement.

Sky Sports report that Chelsea are rivalling Juventus for the services of Atletico Madrid’s Montenegro international Stefan Savic, who has spent three years in the Spanish capital.

Formerly of Manchester City, Savic is seen by Juventus as the ideal recruit to bolster their ageing defensive line but Chelsea, despite being unable to offer Champions League football, will push all the way to sign the 27-year-old.

An unused substitute in Atletico Madrid’s victory over Marseille in the Europa League final, Savic made 36 appearances for Diego Simeone’s side last term and faces a stern challenge for regular first-team football.
