Chelsea are expected to offload a number of players within their squad that are deemed to be surplus to requirements this summer but reports state one approach has been rejected.
French outlet Le 10 Sport state the Blues have rejected an offer of €20m for Brazil defender David Luiz from Arsenal, despite the likelihood that the 31-year-old will leave Stamford Bridge in the coming months.
Chelsea’s squad is set for a major rejuvenation this summer, although it’s still not clear who will be in charge for the upcoming season, but Luiz is likely to be set for an exit after falling down the pecking order in the eyes of Antonio Conte last term.
With Chelsea said to be eyeing additional defensive recruits, Luiz could be pushed out of the door by new arrivals but the club would prefer not to sell to a direct Premier League rival – especially as Napoli are said to be keen on his services.
