Chelsea are expected to oversee significant changes in the market this summer and it’s likely that the club will approve wholesale departures.

Club-record signing Alvaro Morata is heavily linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge and he’s unlikely to be the only expensive recruit leaving west London, with £30m midfielder Danny Drinkwater also tipped for an exit.

The Daily Mirror states Chelsea will cut their losses on the former Leicester City man, who missed out on a spot in England’s World Cup squad, and will look to replace the 28-year-old with OGC Nice ace Jean-Michel Seri.

Drinkwater has struggled to earn regular football at Chelsea since leaving the Foxes and has fallen down the pecking order following the acquisitions of Ross Barkley and Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Now deemed to be surplus to requirements, Drinkwater made just five Premier League starts for Chelsea last term and has been linked with a number of other English clubs in the market.
