Chelsea could be braced for a number of significant departures from their squad this summer following the club’s failure to qualify for the Champions League next season.

Speculation has already suggested that Belgium duo Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois will look to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, with the latter tipped with a return to Madrid – where his family still leaves after his two-year stint on-loan with Atletico.

With Courtois being eyed by serial Champions League winners Real Madrid, The Daily Mail states Chelsea have reignited their interest in Stoke City stopper Jack Butland – who is likely to leave the Potters after their relegation from the Premier League.

25-year-old Butland is currently fighting to be the starting goalkeeper for Gareth Southgate’s England side at the World Cup in Russia, where he could raise further interest in his services with fine performances.

The Blues have also been linked with a swoop for Roma’s Brazil international Alisson but, with concerns over Roman Abramovich’s visa situation and worries about what funds he will release, could see Butland as a cheaper alternative.
