Chelsea have started the summer period in a shambolic style, as they struggle to find a replacement for Antonio Conte and have seen key-players linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge, but the Blues continue with their work in the market.

The Daily Star, citing reports from French outlet Sud-Ouest, state Chelsea have met with the representatives of Bordeaux’s highly-coveted Brazil ace Malcom, who has courted plenty of Premier League interest.

Valued at around £44m, the 21-year-old was a reported target for Arsenal and Tottenham during the January transfer window but it seems Chelsea now lead the chase, with Malcolm potentially being a replacement for Eden Hazard.

Chelsea’s lack of Champions League football next season could be decisive in Hazard’s future, with the Belgium international already urging the club to spend heavily in the market, and Malcom could be the ideal replacement for the former Lille man.

However, he could equally be an arrival to prove the club’s desire to Hazard in an attempt to retain his services.
