Chelsea are set for significant changes this summer after a disappointing campaign saw them fail to qualify for the Champions League, which could provide consequences within the squad.

The Blues have seen plenty of speculation orientate around goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who is heavily linked with a move to three-time consecutive European champions Real Madrid – with his young family still living in the capital.

Losing the Belgium international would provide a huge blow to Chelsea but the Blues are firing ahead with plans for a potential replacement, with reports cited by The Sun stating a £53m bid for Roma’s Alisson has been lodged.

Alisson, poised to be first-choice for Brazil for the World Cup in Russia, has caught the eye with the surprise Champions League semi-finalists and has been widely linked with a move to join Chelsea’s Premier League rivals Liverpool.

However, with Jurgen Klopp’s side already spending in excess of £100m to land midfield duo Naby Keita and Fabinho, it’s suggested Chelsea could lead the charge for the services of the South American stopper.
