Chelsea and Arsenal look set to take their London rivalry into the transfer market, as the two Premier League sides are reported to be eyeing the same midfield addition.
Claims cited by TalkSport state that although the Gunners lead the chase for Steven N’Zonzi, with Unai Emery keen to reunite with the midfielder he signed for Sevilla, Chelsea are also monitoring the situation of the France international.
29-year-old N’Zonzi is keen to leave Andalusia for a new challenge and the most likely scenario would see him return to the Premier League, where he previously represented Stoke City and Blackburn Rovers.
Under Emery’s guidance at Sevilla, N’Zonzi was developed into a key asset for the Spanish side and the player is said to be keen on reuniting with his former boss – although Chelsea could throw a spanner into the works with their own plans of a move.
N’Zonzi has a £35m release clause in his contract with the LaLiga side, which would likely need to be activated in order to seal a deal.
