Chelsea are concerned about the future of Belgium international Thibaut Courtois at Stamford Bridge, amidst continued links with Real Madrid, and have identified targets on the market as potential replacements.

Amongst those linked with a move to the west London giants is Barcelona stopper Jasper Cillessen, who has remained understudy to Marc-Andre Ter Stegen in recent campaigns and is said by Mundo Deportivo to be seriously considering his future.

Cillessen, also a reported target for defeated Champions League finalists Liverpool, is a player that Barcelona would prefer to keep but the LaLiga champions are eyeing replacements for the 29-year-old Netherlands international in case he seeks a transfer.

Barcelona are said to have scouted the Bundesliga for replacements, eyeing Wolfsburg’s Koen Costeels, Koln’s relegated stopper Timo Horn and Werder Bremen’s Jiri Pavlenka, all of whom are younger than Cillessen.

Ter Stegen, still just 26, has plenty of years ahead of him but Barcelona are looking to provide the Germany international with serious competition for his starting berth.
