Chelsea are looking to significantly improve their ranks this summer after missing out on Champions League football for next season and, despite their managerial situation being unstable, are pushing ahead with their activity in the market.

According to reports cited by GFFN, the Blues are in the market pushing for the signature of Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson – who helped the side reach the Europa League final before they fell to defeat against Lyon.

It’s suggested that 23-year-old Sanson is now seeking new challenges and Chelsea are keen to bring him to the Premier League, although they’ll face competition in the market from London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham,

Mauricio Pochettino’s side, who are able to offer Champions League football, reportedly lead the chase for the former France U21 international as the Lilywhites seek potential replacements for Belgium ace Mousa Dembele.

However, their midfield is already stocked full of talent and Chelsea may need to improve their depth if Danny Drinkwater and Ross Barkley push for an exit.
