Chelsea are expected to see a wealth of departures this summer after failing to qualify for the Champions League and one player in particular has attracted plenty of interest.
Despite only signing from Real Madrid last summer for a club-record fee, it’s widely reported that Chelsea are ready to approve an exit for Spain striker Alvaro Morata – who missed out on a spot at the World Cup due to his inconsistent form.
Chelsea are also unhappy with the performances of the forward, particularly since Olivier Giroud’s arrival from Arsenal in January, and are reported to be looking to sell Morata in order to raise funds to land a top-class new man to lead the line.
Juventus, where Morata spent successful time previously, and Atletico Madrid are touted as the favourites for his signature but the player has admitted he’s unsure what his future holds. Quoted by Sport Mediaset, he said:
“For now I do not know anything about my future at Chelsea or Atletico. At this moment I’m thinking only of holidays.”
