It looks pretty inevitable that Antonio Conte’s time at Stamford Bridge is coming to an end.
Conte enjoyed a stellar season last year at the west London outfit, winning the Premier League in impressive style in the Italian’s first season managing England.
The former Juventus boss has looked a shadow of his former self this season and has looked a dejected figure on the sidelines, a stark contrast to the passionate, sometimes wild manager we saw last season.
The job at Stamford Bridge is of course an incredibly appealing job, and there will undoubtedly be funds to splash the cash in the summer transfer window.
As its stands, Luis Enrique and Maurizio Sarri seem to be the two names who are being touted for the job, and bookmakers have placed them two in pole position.
Enrique is currently 2/1 with most bookmakers, whilst Maurizio Sarri is 7/2 as it currently stands at the time of writing.
We at Shedender think Luis Enrique is going to be the man to take the hotseat, so it may be worth using some free bets on him being the next Blues boss.
We’ve decided to look at 5 potential replacements for Conte at Chelsea…
Luis Enrique
The Spaniard is currently out of a job having won two La Liga titles and a Champions League with Barcelona.
He comes with a vast experience and could be the man to get Chelsea challenging at the very top of the table once again.
Though, you do have to consider his spell as manager of Roma… The less said about that the better!
Massimiliano Allegri
It is looking likely that he will remain at Juventus again next season, but there is still a chance he could move in.
Known for his very tactical philosophies, the Italian has proved he can cut the mustard at Juve – he’d be a top appointment for the Blues.
Brendan Rodgers
The Celtic manager’s name is being bandied around for the top job at Stamford Bridge.
There is no doubt this would be a shock appointment, but he has proven his worth at Celtic, and nearly won the Premier League title with Liverpool.
Still young and with a shedload of potential, Rodgers could be a wise move.
Carlo Ancelotti
Many Chelsea fans would be happy with this appointment, albeit it would be a short-term fix.
He’s a safe pair of hands that has been around the block at some of the biggest clubs in world football.
Ancelotti is of course used to Chelsea, having had a spell at Stamford Bridge already in his career.
Mauricio Pochettino
By all accounts, Chelsea are actually looking to move for the popular Tottenham manager.
Poch’s stock in football has risen considerably over the last few years, with the Argentine turning Spurs from just top four contenders to real genuine title challengers.
This would be an extremely unlikely appointment, as Spurs would surely not part with one of the best managers they have had in decades.
If Chelsea could pull it off though, Blues fans would be laughing.
So…. Chelsea fans – Who do you want to replace Antonio Conte? Sarri? Enrique? Should Conte be let go? Let us know your thoughts below!
