Chelsea endured a turbulent period during the January transfer window before finally landing the striker they wanted in Olivier Giroud but it’s anticipated further attacking additions will arrive this summer.

It’s widely reported that the Blues are ready to offload Alvaro Morata just a year after his arrival fromReal Madrid and they will enter the market for a replacement as a result – and one former target is pushing to have his name in the frame.

Roma’s Edin Dzeko was linked with a move to Chelsea in January before Giroud arrived from Arsenal and has now stated he wasn’t ready for a move in the winter window – but has now suggested that has changed.

Quoted by Face TV, the Bosnian striker said:

“Chelsea is a big challenge and I know what kind of a club that is, I’ve been at Manchester City and I wasn’t ready to move to Chelsea.”

“Nobody I spoke to wanted me to move to Chelsea so I decided to stay. It has been tough period, a lot of stories and information, true and false, were written, everything went through my head, I wasn’t clear or certain of anything at the time.”
