Chelsea have a lot to sort out this summer and the expected appointment of former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri as Antonio Conte’s replacement at Stamford Bridge could kick things into gear on the transfer market.

The Blues are ready to invest significantly in their squad as they aim to return to the Champions League, as well as appealing to star names like Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois who have demanded a spending spree.

The Daily Mirror reports Chelsea are expected to go head-to-head with Manchester City for the services of Italy international Jorginho, with the Citizens already seeing a bid rejected.

Napoli believe that Sarri will target Jorginho if he’s appointed at Stamford Bridge and this gives them a strong negotiating position in the market, where it’s indicated they’re demanding a mouthwatering £52m for a deal to go ahead.

Manchester City are in a stronger financial situation to Chelsea though, so it would be difficult for the Blues to win the race for Jorginho’s services.
