Chelsea have endured a difficult and disappointing campaign, which has left the Blues desperately needing a wealth of improvements during the summer transfer window.

Antonio Conte is likely to be moved on after the FA Cup final against Manchester United at Wembley and it appears Roman Abramovich is ready to throw funds behind his successor.

Spanish outlet Diario Gol, cited by The Daily Star, remarkably claim the Blues are one of three European clubs ready to match Liverpool’s £175m valuation of Premier League golden boot winner Mohamed Salah.

The former Chelsea man has torn European football apart this season, guiding Liverpool to the Champions League final, and has attracted plenty of interest – although Real Madrid, the favourites for his signature, are not prepared to pay £175m in the market.

Instead, it’s Chelsea, Manchester City and Bayern Munich who have put themselves in the running for the services of the Egypt international as they’re willing to part with an astronomical figure to land his services.

However, it’s highly unlikely that Chelsea will actually go ahead with a move – especially considering their lack of Champions League football next season.
