Chelsea have already been linked with a number of names in the transfer market and an intriguing proposition has arisen from reports on the continent.

Calcio Mercato states the Blues are in the hunt for Napoli’s Marek Hamsik, who became the Italian side’s all-time leading goalscorer this season when he surpassed the record previously held by Naples icon Diego Maradona.

After a decade with the club, it’s widely reported that Hamsik will be on his way out this summer and Chelsea are leading candidates for his services, alongside a number of Chinese clubs who can offer the Slovakia international a financial boost.

The 30-year-old has suggested a move to the Far East is on the cards, with his father even stating he’s 60% likely to make the move, but Maurizio Sarri’s poised switch to manage Chelsea could hand him with another opportunity.

Boasting 100 club goals in 395 appearances for Napoli, Hamsik would be a valuable addition to Chelsea’s midfield and his leadership would be a crucial asset.
