Chelsea are eyeing significant improvements to their squad in a number of areas this season after failing to qualify for the Champions League.

The Blues have already found themselves linked with a number of top-class targets in the market and it’s now reported a fierce battle between three Premier League giants is set to take place in the coming months.

The Sun states Chelsea have been alerted to the news that Roma are preparing to offload Belgium international Radja Nainggolan, who has also emerged as a target for Manchester United and Arsenal.

30-year-old Nainggolan is ready for a new challenge after failing to secure a spot in Roberto Martinez’s squad for the World Cup in Russia and the Premier League is a likely destination for the experienced midfield powerhouse.

However, luring Nainggolan to Stamford Bridge without Champions League football could prove to be difficult for Chelsea and they’d also have to present a monstrous fee in the market, potentially as much as £45m.
