Chelsea are eyeing a number of additions this summer after a disappointing campaign, which has seen the Blues miss out on Champions League football next season, but the first planned signing may not be a senior addition.

The Sun states Chelsea are amongst a quintet of Premier League giants eyeing the signature of highly-rated defensive prospect Melayro Bogarde, the nephew of former Blues ace Winston Bogarde.

Currently on the books with Eredivisie side Feyenoord, Bogarde is not expected to remain in Holland when he celebrates his 16th birthday next month as he’d be eligible to sign a deal elsewhere in Europe- and Chelsea are keen on his signature.

However, the Blues will face immense competition in the market as it’s stated Manchester United and Arsenal have already offered terms to the teenager, while Manchester City, Liverpool and RB Leipzig are also keen.

Likened to Manchester City and England ace John Stones for his height, power and ball-playing attributes, Bogarde is tipped to become a star in the future.
