Chelsea are looking to considerably improve their ranks this summer after missing out on Champions League football for next season but face a fight in the market to land their targets.

ESPNĀ report that the Blues are fighting Premier League duo Arsenal and Everton for the services of highly-coveted Hamburg defender Josha Vagnoman, who has excelled in German football to become one of the nation’s finest young players.

Making his debut at just 17, the second youngest player to ever feature in the Bundesliga, Vagnoman has caught the eye of a number of sides following his performances – including that of German giants Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.

Arsenal are said to be confident of landing the teenager, who can play on either side of the defence, due to their links in German football but Chelsea may be able to offer better financial terms than their London rivals.

Vagnoman will likely seek first-team assurances if he is to leave Hamburg this summer though and Chelsea may find that difficult to offer.
