Antonio Conte may have guided Chelsea to FA Cup glory last weekend, beating Manchester United 1-0 at Wembley, but his position at the club is under severe threat nevertheless.

The Blues have been rocked by their absence of Champions League football next season, whihc has led to an increase in speculation suggesting key players like Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois could leave, but Conte is likely to be the first out of the door.

Conte has been heavily linked with a return to Italian football but The Telegraph reports that he will take a break from football and will earn a financial boost with a reported £9m pay-off from the west London giants.

It seems the right job for Conte isn’t available at the moment, with Roberto Mancini taking charge of Italy’s national side and Massimiliano Allegri remaining in charge of Juventus – the two jobs that Conte has held before moving to the Premier League.

A year out of football could hand Conte the job he’s looking for in the future but it would prove to be expensive for Chelsea.
