Chelsea’s youth policy has been heavily criticised in recent seasons and it could see some highly-rated talents leave the club this summer.
While first-team Chelsea aces Cesc Fabregas, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Danny Drinkwater and Ross Barkley all missed out on their nation’s respective squads for the World Cup in Russia, on-loan England ace Rubens Loftus-Cheek is part of Gareth Southgate’s side.
Loftus-Cheek has impressed on-loan with Crystal Palace this season, forcing his way into the Three Lions set-up, and could present his talents to the world in this summer’s tournament – potentially leading to a permanent exit from Stamford Bridge.
However, quoted by The Daily Mirror, Loftus-Cheek will not be considering his future until after England’s involvement in Russia.
“I am not thinking about that too much to be honest right now – I am trying to focus on this summer, this tournament is too big. I’ll be back at Chelsea in pre-season anyway and then I will decide when that comes along. I am not too worried, it will get sorted when the time comes.”
The 22-year-old, capped twice by his nation after making his debut in 2017, will come toe-to-toe with Panama, Tunisia and Belgium at the World Cup.
