Chelsea have enquired about Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri, according to L’Equipe.
Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Everton have all been linked with a summer bid for the Ivorian, but the French publication reports that the Blues have also asked about the player’s availability.
Seri reportedly has a €40m (£34.7m) release clause in his contract, which Chelsea could look to trigger.
The 26 year old played an important role in Nice finishing third in Ligue One last season, scoring seven goals and ten assists, but this season he has only hit the back of the net once.
The Daily Mail are reporting that Seri is just one option that Chelsea are considering with the club weighing up a number of possible targets.
It seems that in addition to another midfielder, the Blues are also seeking a centre back and a winger, but the signings will likely depend on what European competition they are playing in next campaign.
