Chelsea is Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio’s preferred destination if he leaves the Bernabeu, according to Don Balon.
The Spanish rumour mongers report that Liverpool have tabled a bid of €150m (£133m) for the 22 year old, but it claims the player has his sights on playing for the Blues.
Another Spanish publication El Gol Digital say that the signing of Asensio is actually one of Luis Enrique’s key demands for taking over as manager at Stamford Bridge.
The former Barcelona manager is said to be a keen admirer of the Spanish international, and would like Chelsea to secure a deal for the midfielder if he takes over from Antonio Conte.
Don Balon say that Asensio could well depart Real in the summer, but the club’s president Florentino Perez is hoping that the Spaniard is more patient for first team opportunities.
The attacking midfielder has struggled for starts in the last couple of months under manager Zinedine Zidane, despite the fact that Real’s attack has failed to fire this season.
