Derby County have signed Chelsea attacking midfielder Kasey Palmer on loan for the rest of the season, the club’s official website have confirmed.

The 21 year old was part of Huddersfield Town’s promotion winning side last season, and returned to the Terriers on loan at the start of this campaign.

Palmer however didn’t get an opportunity to shine under David Wagner in the Premier League. The midfielder did start the first game of the season for Huddersfield in the 3-0 win against Crystal Palace.

Unfortunately a hamstring injury then kept him out for two months, and he was unable to regain his place in the side.

Palmer returned from his loan spell at the start of January, but he will now be part of another promotion challenge with the Rams for the second part of the season.

Gary Rowett’s side currently sit second in the Championship table, eleven points behind league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers.
