Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard says he remains focused on playing for Chelsea despite admitting that he would be tempted by a move to Real Madrid.

The Belgian international was being interviewed by Madrid based newspaper Marca when he was asked about his admiration for Real boss Zinedine Zidane, and whether that connection could lead to him to wearing the Spanish club’s shirt: Hazard replied:

“In football you never know, I’m happy in Chelsea and focused on them.”

It is not a new revelation from the attacking midfielder, but there has been growing speculation about the 27 year old’s future ever since his father, Thierry Hazard, made comments in the Belgian press about moving to the Bernabeu.

Hazard apologised for his Dad’s remarks, but rumours will likely continue until he puts pen to paper on a new deal.

The Sun reported in September that the Belgian was close to signing a new contract, but talks have been delayed since then, with reports indicating the Hazard has deliberately stalled negotiations until the summer to see if Real make a bid for him.
