Chelsea are monitoring Republic of Ireland Under 16 international Elvis Azah, according to the Daily Mail.

The Blues are said to have first spotted the winger when he played at an academy football showcase in October, but the London club will have a battle on their hands to sign the 16 year old.

Celtic currently have Azah on trial with the Irishman scoring for the club’s youth team last week. Southampton and Brighton are the two other clubs keeping tabs on the player.

The winger currently lives in London with his Uncle as he looks to further his football career, after living in Ireland since the age of 11 .

Whether that will have any bearing on who he decides to sign for, it remains to be seen. No doubt, Chelsea will be able to offer Azah the best financial terms, but it isn’t certain that the Blues will up their interest by making a contract offer to the midfielder.
