Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is trying to persuade the board into making a £50m bid for Danny Rose, according to the Sun.
The England international was interested in moving to Chelsea back in August, but since then the Red Devils have been heavy favourites to land the Spurs man.
The Blues have been focused on trying to sign Alex Sandro from Juventus instead, but the latest reports suggest that they could be frustrated once again in their pursuit of the Brazilian.
An alternative option could well be Rose, but they may have to move quickly if they want to sign the 27 year old. Similarly to Chelsea, United are keen to recruit a new left back this January, and it seems that the Tottenham defender is their priority target.
For their part, Tottenham are reluctant to sell the full back, although the Sun report that if they manage to sign Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham, they may consider selling Rose. Whether Chelsea would then enter the battle for the player, we will have to wait and see.
