Speaking to t-online.de about rumours linking him with a move back to the Blues, the 24 year old said he has not reached the level to perform in the Premier League. and match his brother’s performances:
“At the moment I’m not at his level, so that’s not an issue at the moment. I feel comfortable here in Gladbach and am grateful that I may play with him from time to time for Belgium.”
When asked whether he was aware about the interest from Chelsea and AC Milan, and whether it was too early to leave Gladbach, Hazard said:
“I do not know that. Currently I am here. I have a contract until 2019 and we will talk in the summer. But I believe that I can continue to develop here too.”
The Belgian international initially arrived at Gladbach from Chelsea on a loan spell in 2014 before making his move permanent in 2015.
German publication Sport Bild report that Chelsea have first refusal to sign Hazard if another team makes an offer for him. His performances in the Bundesliga this season have prompted speculation that he could leave his current club.
In 19 league games this campaign for Gladbach, he has scored seven goals and provided seven assists, having played regularly both on the left and right flanks.
