Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Thorgan Hazard has responded to speculation that he could return to Chelsea.

Thorgan played for the Blues between 2012 and 2015 before leaving permanently for Gladbach, but reports in recent weeks have suggested that he could reunite with his brothers Eden and Kylian at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard told Bild that he expects to be linked with “big clubs” if he does well, but he is currently only focused on Gladbach:

“If you play well at your club and help your team win, that makes one of course interesting for big clubs. At the moment, only Borussia counts for me. And that the club will qualify for Europe again.”

Hazard has been in excellent form playing in the Bundesliga this season. In just 17 league appearances, he has scored six goals and provided six assists. He generally plays on the left wing, but has been played just as often from the right hand side this campaign.

The Belgian international is likely to surpass his best ever scoring season for Gladbach (11 last campaign), and is no doubt in line to join his brother Eden in Belgium’s final 23 man squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
