Altinordu technical director Huseyin Eroglu has confirmed that there are three clubs in the race to sign their highly rated young goalkeeper Berke Ozer.
The Turkish Under 17 international has been scouted by Chelsea in recent months with the club’s head of goalkeeping Christophe Lollichon, and Eddie Newton having watched Altinordu’s league game against Gaziantep FK in December.
However, speaking to Fanatik after the Turkish side’s 2-0 win over Ankaragucu at the weekend, Eroglu revealed that Premier League rivals Manchester City and Serie A champions Juventus are also interested in the 17 year old:
“With Berke, we have a footballer who is wanted by Chelsea, Juventus, Manchester City on the international stage.”
Despite the calibre of clubs pursuing him, Ozer has not been playing regularly for Altinordu in the Turkish second division this season. He was on the bench for the club’s victory on Saturday.
The stopper’s most notable performances have come at international level, having played for Turkey at the Under 17 World Cup back in October, where he featured in all three games in the group stages of the competition.
