Chelsea are keeping tabs on Montpellier right back Nordi Mukiele, according to L’Equipe.

The France Under 21 international only made the switch to Montpellier last January, but he is already attracted the attention of the Blues, as well as Roma and RB Leipzig.

L’Equipe report that Chelsea sent scouts to watch Mukiele in action against Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday. However, it wasn’t the best of displays by the 20 year old as Montpellier shipped four goals against the Ligue One leaders.

The defender was playing as a right wing back in a 3-5-2 formation as Montpellier tried to combat PSG’s front three of Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Angel Di Maria. Unfortunately, the plan failed to work with all three players getting on the score sheet.

Mukiele has played more often as a centre back than on the right side of defence this season, but he has been a regular performer in both positions during his 12 months at Montpellier.
