Mundo Deportivo are reporting that Barcelona are closing in on the signing of Arthur from Gremio.

The Catalan publication reports that Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid were all pursuing the 21 year old, but it looks as though Barca have won the race for the Brazilian.

Reports in Brazil have suggested that Gremio have been holding out for more than €50m for the midfielder, but it seems that a €30m deal is close to being agreed.

However, Arthur is unlikely to move to the Camp Nou straight away. Barcelona already have three non-EU players in their squad, and will likely delay his transfer until at least the the end of the season.

The Brazilian could remain at Gremio until the summer, or a loan could be agreed for the player to stay at the club for another year.

The details of the transfer are reportedly being ironed out with Arthur and his agent Jorge Machado putting the final touches on the deal with Andre Cury, Barca’s representative in Brazil.
