Manchester United look set to challenge Chelsea for Napoli left back Fouazi Ghoulam, according to Record.
The Blues have been linked with the Algerian international since last summer, when he was reportedly considered as an alternative to Juventus’s Alex Sandro.
Ghoulam is currently sidelined with a serious knee injury that he sustained in a Champions League group match against Manchester City back in November, and speculation about his future died down following the incident.
The 26 year old then signed a new four year contract last month which looked to end the prospects of teams trying to sign him. Record however report that the player has a €60m (£53.4m) buyout fee.
United are reportedly keen to exploit the release clause, while Napoli have already lined up a replacement in Benfica’s Alejandro Grimaldo. Tuttosport report that a €30m fee has already been agreed to sign the Spaniard in the January transfer window.
