Chelsea are weighing up a move for West Bromwich Albion striker Salomon Rondon, according to Premium Sport (via Forzaroma.info).
The Italian TV station reports that the Venezuelan international is now on the Blues’ radar as they consider switching targets away from Roma forward Edin Dzeko.
Chelsea are believed to be continuing negotiations with the Bosnian international, but it is believed the length of the player’s contract is causing problems.
The Blues’ policy of only offering one year contract extensions to player’s above 30 is believed to be the main area of dispute, with the 31 year old expecting a deal that will extend either to 2020 or 2021.
Rondon meanwhile is 28 years of age, and there would likely be no problems in negotiating a contract with the striker.
West Brom are also looking to sell players in order to fund their own January purchases, but whether that means they would consider selling the Venezuelan, it is not known.
