Schalke believe they will sign Chelsea left back Baba Rahman on an eighteen month loan deal if the Blues sign another left back, according to Revier Sport.
The Ghanaian spent the first half of last season at the Bundesliga club before having his loan spell cut short by a serious knee injury. The German outfit have however publicly stated their desire to re-sign the 23 year old.
However, Revier Sport say that Chelsea remain reluctant to sign off on the loan switch until they have secured sufficient cover for the left wing back position.
Reports in Italy suggest the Blues are looking to recruit Roma full back Emerson Palmieri, and if this deal were to go through, Rahman’s departure from Stamford Bridge could well be rubber stamped.
Schalke are said to want the Chelsea defender until the end of the 2018/19 season in order to allow him to recover his best form after a lengthy injury. The Ghanaian international returned to full fitness this month following a year out of the game.
