Chelsea are lining up a €35million (£31m) offer for Villarreal midfielder Manu Trigueros, according to El Gol Digital.
The Spanish publication reported back in November that the 26 year old was a transfer target for the Blues, but it looks as though Antonio Conte’s side are now preparing a formal offer for the Spaniard.
Trigueros generally plays as the anchor man in Villarreal’s midfield, as well as playing on the left hand side, so it doesn’t seem like he would be anything more than a squad player for Chelsea.
Still, it seems Villarreal are expecting to receive a bid from the Blues, with El Gol reporting that the La Liga side will seriously consider the proposal.
The midfielder has made 22 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring two goals and providing three assists. Despite playing over 200 times for Villarreal, Trigueros has never been capped for Spain, but he remains an integral player for the Yellow Submarine.
