Chelsea and Juventus are monitoring AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli’s situation at the San Siro, according to Calciomercato.com.

The Italian website reports that the Blues have had a number of offers knocked back by the Rossoneri over the past year for the centre back, but the club could consider selling the 23 year old in the summer.

Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso has been critical of Romagnoli’s performances over the past few weeks, and it is believed that the Serie A club may consider selling the centre half at a profit.

The Rossoneri signed the Italian international from Roma for €25m two and a half years ago, and they could look to sell the player for more than that, with both Chelsea and Juve waiting in the wings.

Romagnoli is not one of the top earners at the club, but with the player’s contract expiring in 2020, the club will soon have to make a decision on whether to offer a new deal (with a pay rise) or to make a sale.
