Chelsea may have a fight on their hands to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal, with Manchester United now being tipped to enter the race for the Chilean.

Journalist Maks Cardenas is reporting that United will join the Blues, and a host of other clubs from Italy and China in pursuing the 30 year old in the summer.

German tabloid Bild reported earlier this week that the arrival of Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka in July could pave the way for Vidal to leave the Allianz Arena.

The Chilean international has expressed a desire to stay at the Bundesliga club in recent weeks, but he will only have one year left on his contract at Bayern at the end of the season.

The German side may consider offering the player a new deal, but he could be tempted by proposals from other clubs.

Chilean newspaper La Cuarta reported last month that Chelsea were prepared to offer Vidal $18m as season to make the switch to Stamford Bridge. Blues boss Antonio Conte is said to be a big fan of the player after working with him at Juventus.
