Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller says he expects winger Leon Bailey to be the subject of more interest from other clubs.

Chelsea were linked with a £22m bid for the Jamaican earlier this month, but the Bundesliga club are reportedly unwilling to sell the 20 year old.

Speaking to Bild (translated by the Mirror), Voller confirmed that Bailey is a player who will be in high demand:

“We would be doing bad work if other clubs were not interested in our players. Leon Bailey is not the only one. But he loves this team and he needs his teammates. He gives it back and that makes him all the more valuable to us.”

Bailey’s recent performances will have done nothing to quell speculation about his future at Leverkusen. The winger scored a goal and provided an assist in the 4-1 win over Hoffenheim at the weekend.

The Blues are not alone in their interest in the player. Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in the midfielder.

Leverkusen signed Bailey from Racing Genk for £12m last January, and he has been in excellent form during his first full season in Germany.

In 18 games this campaign, the winger has scored an impressive nine goals and provided five assists.
