Manchester City are the latest Premier League team to take a look at in form Augsburg left back Philipp Max, according to the Daily Mail.

Journalist Simon Jones, who reported on Chelsea’s interest in the German last week, says that a City scout was in the stands to see the full back in action against Freiburg on Saturday.

Max again impressed in the attacking third of the pitch, making his tenth assist of the season for Alfred Finnbogason’s second goal of the match, as the Icelandic international grabbed himself a hat-trick in the 3-3 draw.

Chelsea scouted the player last weekend, when the German defender was again in the thick of the action as he provided another assist for Caiuby in the 1-1 draw against Hertha Berlin.

Along with Juventus’s Alex Sandro, and Porto’s Alex Telles, Max is believed be a player that the Blues are considering signing in January to strengthen the left wing back position.
