Chelsea loan technical coach Eddie Newton and head of the club’s goalkeeping department Christophe Lollichon have been photographed watching Altinordu goalkeeper Berke Ozer.

Turkish publication Ajansspor revealed two weeks ago that the Turkish Under 17 international was a target for the Blues and that scouts were expected to be present for Altinordu’s match against Gaziantep FK.

As expected, Chelsea’s representatives watched as Ozer played in goal for the full 90 minutes as Altinordu lost 2-0 on Friday night. Newton and Lollichon were on an official visit to Izmer to see Altinordu’s training facilities, and Newton even had time for a short interview to praise their youth programme.

As part of the visit, they were invited to watch Altinordu’s Turkish second division match where it just so happened that Chelsea’s head of goalkeeping Lollichon could see Ozer in action.

Ajansspor report that Newton and Lollichon were impressed by what they saw of the 17 year old, and they have told Altinordu that they will watch the keeper’s progress until the end of the season when they will make a decision over whether they want to buy the Under 17 World Cup star.
