Juventus left back Alex Sandro will reject a new contract with the Serie A club, and will look to leave in the summer, according to TMW.

The Brazilian international was heavily pursued by Chelsea before the start of the season, but Juve reportedly refused a number of offers in order to keep the 26 year old. In an attempt to diffuse speculation around the defender’s future, the Italian side were said to have offered the full back a new deal.

TMW report that despite offering terms close to what Chelsea were willing to offer him, Sandro has now decided he will depart after the World Cup next year.

The Brazilian is hoping to dislodge Marcelo at left back, although his form for Juventus this season would suggest he is a long way from establishing himself as an automatic starter for his country.

The defender signed from Porto for €26m in 2015, but he had to wait until his second season at the club to become a first team regular. His excellent performances last year helped Juve to another league title and to reach the Champions League final, but he has failed to replicate that form this campaign.
