Chelsea may have lost out in the race to sign Maurio Icardi with Diario Gol reporting that Real Madrid have all but sealed the signing of Inter Milan striker.

The Blues were named by AS as one of four clubs tracking the Argentine, and his wife and agent Wanda Nara confirmed that there were teams like Chelsea who had registered an interest in the player.

It seems however that Icardi has decided on the switch to the Bernabeu, if Diario Gol are to be believed. The Spanish website go into quite a lot of detail in regards to the move.

Real are reportedly paying €80m up front; €30m below the reported €110m that Icardi has written into his current contract. A further €12m will be paid in bonuses making the total fee €92m (£81m).

The forward will also be paid €9m a year or roughly £152,000 a week, with image rights set at 30% in favour of the player and 70% going to the club. Diario Gol say they even have the date of the medical which is Boxing Day, 26th December.  We will see in a few weeks whether this report is close to being accurate.
