Chelsea will look to offer far less than the £80m that Juventus demanded for Alex Sandro last summer, according to the Sun.
The Brazilian was reluctant to request a transfer before the start of the season, but the player is now reportedly determined to force through a move to Stamford Bridge, giving the Blues the opportunity to negotiate Juve’s hefty asking price.
Manchester United are also believed to be interested Sandro but the 26 year old is said to have his heart set on a move to Chelsea to work under manager Antonio Conte.
The full back’s relationship with Juve is said to have worsened over the course of the season. The Serie A champions were prepared to offer the defender a new improved contract back in September, but the club’s chief executive Beppe Marotta has since come out and stated that he is prepared to let the player leave if “he asks to be sold”. The Sun believe that Sandro has in fact done just that and told the club’s hierarchy he wants to leave.
Sandro’s performances have been erratic this season, with one goal and five assists in 16 appearances, and it will be interesting to see whether he is worth the lengthy pursuit if he does finally sign on the dotted line for Chelsea.
