Chelsea remain interested in Porto left back Alex Telles, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Speculation has been rife that the Blues will make another attempt to sign Alex Sandro from Juventus but the newspaper reports that scouts from the London club have travelled to Portugal “recently” to run the rule over Telles, who is likely a backup plan if the side’s move for Sandro falters.

Ironically, Telles is also a target for Juve who are looking at the 24 year old in case Sandro departs the Serie A side. The Porto full back spent two years at Inter Milan before joining the Portuguese club as Sandro’s replacement in 2016.

So far this season, the Brazilian has made an impressive seven assists in 19 appearances, helping Porto to an unbeaten start in the Primeira Liga, level on points with Sporting Lisbon at the top of the table.

However, Chelsea are still likelier to make another attempt to sign Sandro, with the Juventus full back reportedly falling out with a number of key figures at the Italian club.
