Besiktas midfielder Tolgay Arslan is being pursued by the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United, according to Turkish football coach Koray Palaz.
Speaking with some insight about Arslan, and his team mate Cenk Tosun, Palaz was quoted by CNN Turk as saying that while Tosun will not be interesting the top six Premier League teams, Arslan has been:
“I do not see Chelsea getting reports about Cenk. When we look at Tolgay, for example, there are acclaimed names, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United, but they will not be the first clubs that Cenk will go to.”
The German has played an important role for Besiktas as they finished top of their Champions League group to reach the knockout round of the competition. He has played in Turkey for nearly three years since moving from Hamburg in January 2015.
At 27 years of age though, it does seem unlikely that Arslan would be a player that the likes of Chelsea would even consider signing. This season, the central midfielder has played 21 times, scoring no goals and providing one assist. He has also never been capped at senior level, either by the country of his birth Germany, or by Turkey where his family originates from.
