AC Milan are “closely monitoring” Chelsea midfielder Willian’s situation at the Blues, according to Calciomercato.com.
Reports from France in recent days have suggested that the Brazilian international could be sold in the January transfer window and replaced with Paris Saint-Germain winger Lucas Moura.
The news has peeked the interest of the Rossoneri, Calciomercato says, but they would only be interested in signing the 29 year old on loan, with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.
Even if Willian was available for transfer, it is unlikely a loan move would be acceptable to Chelsea. Le 10 Sport reported on Tuesday that the intention to sell the midfielder was in order to replace the Brazilian with a younger model in Moura, and to make a profit in the process.
Milan’s interest in an initial loan deal would not fit with this plan, and that is even before we look at the credibility of the initial report of selling Willian in the first place.
