Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Javier Pastore says it is more likely he’ll leave Ligue One to return to Italy if he doesn’t get more game time at the Parc des Princes.
The Argentinian international joined PSG from Palermo for a reported €42m in 2011, but has huge competition for a place in the club’s starting eleven this season after the arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
Chelsea and Liverpool had been linked with a January bid for the 28 year old but speaking to reporters (quotes via TeamTalk.com), the midfielder revealed he would prefer a move back to Serie A if he has a choice:
“It’s more likely that I’ll go to Italy.”
Pastore was talking after starring in the league victory over Nantes at the weekend. On his second consecutive start, he scored and provided an assist in the 4-1 win. If he continues to play to such a high level, manager Unai Emery will find it hard to leave him out, and he won’t be going anywhere in the January transfer window regardless of the speculation.
